According to Fabrizio Romano, Raheem Sterling has agreed to join Arsenal from Chelsea if the two clubs manage to reach an agreement. The talks are believed to be in the final stages at the moment.

Chelsea considered the possibility of swapping Sterling for Manchester United s Jadon Sancho, but they re currently on the verge of signing the former Borussia Dortmund winger directly, without sending anyone the other way.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice from the penalty spot as Al Nassr beat Al Ittihad 5-2 in the Saudi Pro League.

The clash provided a reunion for former Real Madrid team-mates Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who joined Al Ittihad in the summer transfer window.

Al Ittihad took an early lead through Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 14th minute, but Al Nassr were soon awarded a spot-kick which Ronaldo dispatched down the middle to level five minutes later.

Paris Saint-Germain s Ligue 1 game away to Monaco has been postponed because of a weather warning.

The teams were due to meet at Stade Louis II on Sunday, but local authorities intervened in the wake of recent torrential rain and flooding in the region.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) said on its website that the state of Monaco s interior minister made the decision because of the threat of anticipated heavy rain on Sunday.

The league s competition commission will reschedule the match for a later date in due course, the LFP said.

Kalvin Phillips is undergoing a medical at West Ham on Thursday ahead of his loan switch from Manchester City.

The England midfielder has agreed a move to the London Stadium until the end of the season.

West Ham will have an option to buy Phillips once the loan deal is over.

The PA news agency understands the loan deal will be announced either later on Thursday or on Friday morning.

Phillips joined City from Leeds for £45million on a six-year contract in July 2022.

But the 28-year-old has never managed to hold down a regular spot in Pep Guardiola’s side and has not started a single Premier League match this season.

Oliver Kahn feels incoming Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel has taken a very courageous step by agreeing a move to Bavaria to challenge Manuel Neuer for the number one spot.

Last week Bayern confirmed Nubel, 23, would be joining the Bundesliga champions on a free in July upon the expiration of his contract with Schalke.

Antoine Griezmann has reached the 200-goal mark for club and country after scoring the winner in Atletico Madrid s 1-0 LaLiga triumph over Espanyol on Saturday.

In an otherwise unremarkable game, Griezmann proved decisive from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after Koke had been felled by a wild Esteban Granero kick.

It was Griezmann s 86th LaLiga goal for Atletico in his 160th outing since joining from Real Sociedad in 2013.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed a deal to purchase a stake in Manchester United which will grant his Ineos company control of football operations at the club.

The Ineos founder, chairman and chief executive has completed his acquisition of 25 per cent of the Club’s class B shares and 25 per cent of the club’s Class A shares.

The investment from Trawlers Ltd, a company wholly owned by Ratcliffe, received Premier League and Football Association approval last week and was officially confirmed on Tuesday night.

Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed his 27.7% acquisition of the club, following approval of all conditions, including the FA and the Premier League.
